Moraa Nyaribo
At Usha.nga, heritage meets contemporary luxury.
Born from resilience. Built with purpose. Rooted in home.
Usha.nga began during a time of stillness and uncertainty. While navigating graduate school in the middle of the pandemic, our founder, Moraa Nyaribo, faced the sudden loss of financial support. Determined to complete her education and remain connected to her creative practice, she turned to her hands, her heritage, and her community.
What began as small batches of handmade jewelry sold to classmates, local pop-ups, and craft fairs soon grew into something far more meaningful—a brand dedicated to celebrating African craftsmanship and supporting the women who carry these traditions forward.
Today, Usha.nga is a collaborative ecosystem powered by Kenyan women artisans. Each piece is handcrafted with skill, intention, and artistic freedom, using sustainably sourced materials such as recycled glass, batik bone, and upcycled horn. Our designs honor the legacy of African adornment while bringing a bold, contemporary touch to every creation.
More than jewelry, Usha.nga is a platform for economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and creative expression. Our name—meaning a string of beads in Swahili—reflects our commitment to connection: between maker and wearer, tradition and modernity, art and purpose.
